Activism in the Time of Corona feat. Lucy from RAC
Thursday Oct 08, 2020
Thursday Oct 08, 2020
In this episode we discuss another rubbish sexist thing Morrison has done, the ridiculousness that is XR and incitement laws.
We are super lucky to have Lucy from Refugee Action Collective discuss battling with fickle cops, the right to protest and the responsibilty of the left.
We go on yet another rant about changing to system from outside the system, somehow we manage to wedge in universal basic income, Chilean constitution and the issues with privatisation. Also the PBS? We'll figure out a format eventually.

Cuties, Corporate Pedophilia and Consent.
Wednesday Sep 30, 2020
Wednesday Sep 30, 2020
CW for this episode: discussion of pedophilia, corporporate pedophila, sexualisation of children and Islamophobia. We haven't gone into specifics or details, but please take care of yourself if you have been effected by these issues.
Sorry for the accidental week off ... some minor tech issues but we are back discussing the film Cuties (Mignonnes) by Maïmouna Doucouré, a coming of age story centering Amy, a French Senegalese Muslim 11 year old girl. The film has been wildly critised for promoting child pornography, and the Muslim community has expressed concerns that the film can be weaponised to promote Islamophobia.
Do Leah and Dani agree? Were they deeply uncomfortable with the cinematography? Did they even like the film? You'll have to listen to find out.
They also discuss corporate pedophilia, and some ways we can reduce the risk of hypersexualisation of children.
